چکیده

Background Infarct size, microvascular obstruction (MO) and the myocardial salvage index (MSI) assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) have been shown to be associated with adverse clinical outcome. However, in daily clinical routine prognosis after STEMI is evaluated using simple assessable parameters such as ST-segment resolution, enzymatic infarct size, preand post-PCI TIMI-flow, left ventricular ejection fraction (LV EF) and TIMI-risk score. Up to date it remains unclear if the assessment of infarct size, MO and MSI by CMR adds incremental prognostic value in comparison to the traditional outcome markers.

Prognosis after ST-elevation myocardial infarction: a study on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging versus clinical routine

BACKGROUND This study aimed to evaluate the incremental prognostic value of infarct size, microvascular obstruction (MO), myocardial salvage index (MSI), and left ventricular ejection fraction (LV-EFCMR) assessed by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) in comparison to traditional outcome markers in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) reperfused by primary percutaneous ...

Impact of Ejection Fraction on long-term outcome after ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction - comparison between cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and transthoracic echocardiography

Background Left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) is a strong prognostic marker for clinical outcome after ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). In clinical practice echocardiography is most commonly used to assess EF, although cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) might have higher accuracy. However, it remains unclear if measuring EF by CMR in comparison to echocardiography provides...

Platelet-To-Lymphocyte Ratio as a Predictor of No-Reflow after Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients with ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Introduction: No-reflow increases the complications and mortality rate of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Therefore, it is important to identify patients at a higher risk of developing no-reflow. This study aimed to systematically review the prognostic value of the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) to predict no-reflow. Materials and Methods:</s...

Which cardiac magnetic resonance parameters predict outcome in acutely reperfused non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction?

Background Clinical outcome after acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has been shown to be predictable by myocardial salvage index (MSI) and microvascular obstruction as determined by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). In the setting of non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) prognostic significance is less well investigated. Due to comparable incidence of major adve...

Prognostic significance and determinants of myocardial salvage assessed by cardiovascular magnetic resonance in acute reperfused myocardial infarction.

OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to determine the prognostic significance and determinants of myocardial salvage assessed by cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in reperfused ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. BACKGROUND In acute myocardial infarction, CMR can retrospectively detect the myocardium at risk and the irreversible injury. This allows for quantifying the extent of s...
